With more than 150 years of combined experience, our staff is friendly and knowledgeable in every aspect of the handmade rug business. Family-owned and operated, Doug and Nelda Lay founded the business in 1976. Along with their daughter Cynthia, they oversee all operations at their brick-and-mortar store, The Persian Carpet.

We use our years of experience—and a wide world of inspiration—to help you select a beautiful rug that perfectly reflects your style in the right size, design, and colors.

APPROVALS
We gladly encourage in-home trials and never charge a restocking fee. Shipping fees will apply.

SHIPPING
We ship worldwide via UPS, fully insured.

CLEANING AND REPAIR
We offer expert cleaning and repair services.

INVENTORY
Carpets from all collections are available in stock at our North Carolina store. Orders ship daily via UPS. We strive to maintain adequate inventory across our full production line; however, occasional shortages may occur. If a carpet is unavailable when you place an order, we will place it on back order for our next quarterly shipment.

CUSTOM ORDERS

Inventory – We display fine rugs from sizes 3X5 to 10X14, plus hundreds of samples from premier rug houses. We carry a large selection of sizes and colors in stock. We also offer custom-cut pads and can special order any rug from our vendors
